Evan here has at least some measure of latent telepathy at play- Canon hasn't specified how well developed it is, if at all, just yet, but I think it would be safe to assume he'd at least get that nagging little 'not alone' feeling when she's around. He won't be able to pick apart specifics for a while yet, I don't think.
